Prof. Rahul K. Gairola (Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature, Film, & Media Studies; University of Washington, Seattle) was most recently a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Muenster, Germany, affiliated with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Programme of the European Union. He has published seven books, most recently Liminal Diasporas: Contemporary Movements of Humanity & the Environment (Routledge 2024), and is currently working on two additional book projects with Routledge and Oxford University Press.

He has taught in the USA, India, and Australia, and has globally delivered talks and attended conferences. He is also a series editor for both Routledge and Oxford University Press, and previously served as an editor for the peer-reviewed journal Postcolonial Text. His work focuses on the notion of "home" in relation to identity and belonging in literature, culture, film and media studies, and the digital milieu. 

He sits on the Editorial Board of several peer-reviewed journals, and has been awarded various grants and fellowships at Washington, Cornell, Cambridge, Humboldt-Berlin, Yale, Oxford, and Leipzig universities, among others. In 2019, he was appointed a Digital Champion for the State of Western Australia by The Digital Studio, University of Melbourne, Australia.
